“Taiga-Tours” T.C. (former “Intourist-Bratsk”) - one of the leading travel agencies of Siberia is preparing for its 40th anniversary.
Back in the 60th of the previous century being still under construction unique Bratsk Hydro Electric Station became the second to Baikal attraction of Eastern Siberia.
Numerous visitors to the legendary “8th wonder of the world” needed someone to look after them, so “Intourist” opened its office in Bratsk, a small wooden hotel in the town of Padun being rented. Incredible growth of tourism to the “construction site of the century” made Intourist build a morden hotel in our city and in 1970 “Taiga” hotel hosted its first visitors. The Intourist office developed into a big agency and later became an independent travel company, its name being changed to “Taiga-Tours”. Since then the company has been providing all sorts of tourist services first for foreign visitors to Siberia and later also for the local people traveling round the country or outside Russia.
